Steam distilled from the leaves of the perennial herb, producing a clear liquid with a strong top fragrance note. Its minty aromas promote clarity and mental agility, but it is also widely used to treat gastro-intestinal discomfort, bowel spasms, and pain relief from headaches. It has antiseptic properties when used topically, but diffused or vaporized it can be effective in relieving mild inflammation or for reducing stress and anxiety. Dilute in carrier oil for a soothing muscle rub or to invigorate the skin. Some cautions should be noted: pregnant women or those with epilepsy should avoid using peppermint essential oil, and it should not be combined with any homeopathic remedies.

On the recommendation of the International Federation of Aromatherapists, TruGardens does not endorse taking essential oils internally unless specifically directed and prescribed by a qualified healthcare practitioner who is also trained in clinical aromatherapy. Avoid using during pregnancy, or if you suspect you might be pregnant, except on the advice of a qualified practitioner. Store all essential oil products safely out of reach of children. Essential oils are potent, and a little bit goes a long way. Do not use essential oils undiluted directly on the skin as they can cause irritation. Keep away from children, and do not apply near the eyes, mucous membranes, sensitive or broken skin. Absolutely fantastic

I love it. I've tried using the oil in the different ways described in the site, and it works great! One of my favorite uses is putting a drop on a cotton ball, and putting it in corners and cabinets through the house... Smells nice, and keeps spiders, ants, and mice away!
