Description

Myrrh essential oil is steam distilled from the gum of the plant, myrrh presents a strong base fragrance note with earthy, resinous and balsamic aromas. It has a pale to medium yellow color, and is prized for use both in skin care and to elevate the mood. Dilute into carrier oil for use on the skin to strengthen the nails, relieve itching and calm skin irritations. Diffused or vaporized, it acts as an effective expectorant while balancing the immune and endocrine system. Myrrh essential oil promotes deep concentration, so it is good for meditative practice and can be used to allay distractions and the agitation that comes with generalized anxiety. Has been used in Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine and is a common scent for use in religious ritual. ***Avoid use completely during pregnancy and while brestfeeding.

Directions
  • Diffuse 2-3 drops per 100ml of water during meditation to create a serene environment
  • Add 2 drops to facial moisturizer or carrier oil and apply to face to improve appearance of lines, wrinkles and scars
  • Also works on the back of the hands, diluted 2- 3 drops in a teaspoon of carrier oil
Make a batch of facial cleansing pads for on the go:
  • Fill an 8oz glass mason jar 3/4 way with water
  • Add 1 tablespoon castille soap, 1 tablespoon Coconut Oil and 1/2 teaspoon witch hazel and stir
  • Add 5 drops of Myrrh and 10 drops each of Lavender and Tea Tree, stir
  • Finally add a stack of cotton rounds until all liquid is absorbed
