Description

Cold pressed from the fruit of the avocado, avocado oil is a dark green color with a dense texture. It lacks any discernable scent, making it an excellent carrier oil for any topical essential oil preparation. Provides deep penetration with a long-lasting moisture barrier to help the skin retain its natural hydration. Excellent for extremely dry, dehydrated or aging skin, or in the presence of extensive sun/elemental damage. Contains high levels of vitamin A and E, making it an excellent choice for use in skin or hair preparations, though if applied too liberally, it can leave the skin feeling slightly waxy or leave a heavy buildup on the hair. For maximum shelf life, it is recommended to store away from heat and light.

Suggested Uses
  • Aromatherapy massage
  • Useful to treat skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis
  • Stimulate hair growth
  • Protects against tissue damage
  • Treats dry, brittle hair
  • Lip balms and body butter
Directions

It is often mixed with other carrier oils like Sweet Almond or Jojoba due to its oily residue. (10% Avocado oil to 90% Almond oil) Essential oils are often too strong to apply undiluted to the skin and evaporate rapidly. This is where a good carrier oil comes into play. They do not evaporate or have a very overpowering aroma and so blend well with essential oils making them less volatile. This combination is perfect for all forms of body massage.

  • For chapped, dry, reddened skin use a few drops of Avocado oil to soothe the affected area
  • Massage Avocado oil into damaged hair to nourish the hair cuticle and promote smooth appearance
  • Use as a hot oil treatment for hair. Apply to damp hair, put shower cap on and let sit for 30 minutes. Shampoo and condition after treatment
