Tea Tree, Natures Antiseptic

For the last 100 years Australians have been using Tea Tree essential oil, derived from one of their indigenous plants, Melaleuca alternifolia, for its potent antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties. There has been a plethora of medical studies in the last 70 years documenting its powerful ability to kill many strains of viruses, fungi and bacteria.

In 1923, Dr. A.R. Penfold conducted a study that found Tea Tree to be twelve times more effective at healing infections than the conventional antiseptic of the time –carbolic acid. Due to his findings Tea Tree was used extensively as an antiseptic for Australian soldiers in World War II. All soldiers had a bottle of Tea Tree in their first aid kits. Obviously way before Penfold commercialized its massive benefits, native aboriginals were passing their Tea Tree knowledge down through generations.

So why do we choose to continue to put Tea Tree in our medicine chests in 2017?

There is a long list of healing benefits that this mighty Australian essential oil gives us…

Tea Tree’s gift to to relieve skin inflammation. With conditions like Psoriasis, rapid skin production causes red, scaly inflammation as the body doesn’t shed its skin quickly enough. Great diffuser! I love my diffuser! It is quiet and the colors are nice. I also love that it has the option to not have a light on so I can use it at night in my room.
