Tea Tree, Natures Antiseptic –TruGardens Aromatherapy Healing Solution

Tea Tree, Natures Antiseptic

For the last 100 years Australians have been using Tea Tree essential oil, derived from one of their indigenous plants, Melaleuca alternifolia, for its potent antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties. There has been a plethora of medical studies in the last 70 years documenting its powerful ability to kill many strains of viruses, fungi and bacteria.

In 1923, Dr. A.R. Penfold conducted a study that found Tea Tree to be twelve times more effective at healing infections than the conventional antiseptic of the time –carbolic acid. Due to his findings Tea Tree was used extensively as an antiseptic for Australian soldiers in World War II. All soldiers had a bottle of Tea Tree in their first aid kits. Obviously way before Penfold commercialized its massive benefits, native aboriginals were passing their Tea Tree knowledge down through generations.

So why do we choose to continue to put Tea Tree in our medicine chests in 2017?

There is a long list of healing benefits that this mighty Australian essential oil gives us…

The Skin Salve Solution:

Alternative to Benzoyl Peroxide in Treating Acne

Applying 5% of Tea Tree is just as effective as 5% benzoyl peroxide (medicinal treatment for acne). Tea Tree works slightly slower but is far less irritating to one’s facial skin. You won’t experience the usual peeling, red skin. Tea Tree can penetrate your pores to loosen up blocked dirt or oil that cause breakouts.

Acne Cure:

5 Drops Tea Tree

2 teaspoons honey

Rub over your infected facial area, leave for one minute and then rinse off thoroughly.

Or: Mix a drop of Tea Tree with a drop of coconut carrier oil and dab infected skin with a cotton swab.

Natural Eczema and Psoriasis Treatment

Tea Tree’s gift to to relieve skin inflammation. With conditions like Psoriasis, rapid skin production causes red, scaly inflammation as the body doesn’t shed its skin quickly enough. Currently there is no cure for Psoriasis, but Tea Tree greatly reduces the pain and discomfort associated with the condition.

For relief for these conditions mix:

10 drops Tea Tree essential oil with 2 Tablespoons of melted coconut carrier oil.

Apply only over infected areas.

Repeat 2-3 times daily

Fungal Fighter

Tea Tree is a brave fighter against parasites and fungal infections.

Toenail Fungus, Athlete’s Foot, Warts and Ringworm

You can put Tea Tree on the affected area for all of these conditions in its undiluted form, using a cotton swab. You can also add Oregano essential oil into the mix as it is also a powerful anti-fungal oil.

For stubborn warts put Tea Tree on the infected area twice daily for 30 days.

To combat nail fungus mix 4-5 drops of Tea Tree with water or one tablespoon of melted coconut oil. Apply once in the morning and once in the evening. Store in an airtight glass container out of direct sunlight.

Another recipe for Athletes Foot is to add 20 drops of Tea Tree oil with ¼ cup of arrowroot powder, and ¼ cup of baking soda. Rinse feet, pat them dry and then liberally apply twice daily. Store in a cool, dark place

Promotes healthy hair and scalp

To make your own Tea Tree Shampoo mix:

Several drops of Tea Tree essential oil with Aloe Vera Gel, coconut milk and a few drops of Lavender essential oil.

This shampoo will also ward off lice.

Sore Throats and Head Colds Tea Tree Relief

Tea Tree likes fighting infections and serves for preventative care as well. If your throat is sore put 1 drop of Tea Tree into a glass of warm water. Gargle with it once a day. Don’t swallow. You can also add 2 teaspoons of salt to the mix as it draws out the excess water in the mucous membrane which causes the pressure. Tea Tree’s anti-bacterial potency is effective airborne which means you can experience its benefits through a steam bath. Simply add 5-8 drops of Tea Tree into a bowl of boiling hot water, lean over the bowl, cover your head with a towel and inhale for 10 minutes.

Great diffuser! I love my diffuser! It is quiet and the colors are nice. I also love that it has the option to not have a light on so I can use it at night in my room.
