Essential Oils: Favorite Diffuser Blends

Our Favorite Diffuser Blends

Aromatherapy is the ancient practice of enhancing your emotional, psychological, spiritual and mental well-being through the inhalation of essential oils. Each essential oil has a list of healing properties that can stimulate brain function, be used as an effective pain reliever, elevate mood and the list of benefits goes on and on. The smell of essential oils ignites the limbic system of the brain to stimulate memories and emotions and can alter your mood.

One of the most effective ways to use essential oils is by inhaling their aroma via a diffuser. It dispenses the oil that is added to water (approx. 2-3 drops per 100ml of water) into the air. There are absolutely no chemicals added like plug in air fresheners. (Also beware of “scented” candles as they can contain up to 300 toxic chemicals in their make-up). The essential oils are not heated but cold diffused to get the maximum benefit from these concentrated aromatic compounds. It is important to note that a diffuser is not a humidifier. The latter has not been made for essential oil use.

Diffused essential oils clean the air from free radicals, lower anxiety, alleviate stress and ease a range of physical and psychological issues. When you combine a few essential oils in your diffuser you can create specific blends that pack additional benefits due to their therapeutic combinations.

Firstly, you will need to invest in a great diffuser. It should include a waterless shut off for when the water inside runs out. This is for your safety. It’s also perfect to find one that is exceptionally quiet while in operation. You must also ensure that you only use 100% pure essential oils in your diffuser to receive the healing benefits of aromatherapy.

Here are a few of our favorite recipes for creating ideal blends to target your specific needs. The recipes are categorized under the following headings of Body, Mind, Soul and Home. This is your essential guide for using essential oils use in a diffuser.

Great carrier oil I have never used sweet almond oil before but am so glad I gave this a try! I mix it with the Zen blended essential oil. Its not greasy and goes on so smooth.

Great diffuser! I love my diffuser! It is quiet and the colors are nice. I also love that it has the option to not have a light on so I can use it at night in my room.
